Live music. Real experience. New opportunities.

ITM Live Tour is In The Making’s live touring and youth workforce-development programme, bringing together emerging artists, guest performers and young people looking to build careers in the music industry.

Each show features a lineup of artists from In The Making alongside guest artists, with every performer delivering a full set of their own original music, backed by the professional ITM band. Guest artists get the opportunity to experience their music in a full-band live setting, while ITM’s musicians gain valuable, hands-on experience of performing and touring professionally.

Guest artists are welcomed into the tour on the same terms as ITM’s own artists, with access to the same tour support, opportunities and professional environment.

A platform for artists

ITM Live Tour is designed to create meaningful opportunities for artists at different stages of their careers.

The tour’s first outing brought together two former Inside Track artists and a guest artist for a night of live music, establishing a model that continues to grow.

At every stop, ITM also works to discover and platform local talent, inviting grassroots artists to perform as support acts. This gives emerging artists the chance to perform on a professional stage, reach new audiences and connect with the local music community.

Building the next generation of music professionals

Behind the live shows is a dedicated youth workforce-development programme, giving young people practical experience across the live music industry.

Participants gain hands-on, paid and credited experience in areas including:

• Event production

• Live sound

• Lighting

• Tour management

• Content creation

• Artist liaison

• Production and technical roles

They also have opportunities to shadow experienced industry professionals and develop the skills, confidence and networks needed to take their next steps into the sector.

Connecting education with the music industry

At each tour stop, ITM works with local colleges and universities to create opportunities for students to get involved.

These partnerships can include work experience and industry shadowing, opportunities to support or perform at shows, and practical experience across production and technical roles.

By connecting education directly with live industry experience, ITM Live Tour creates a pathway from the classroom into the music industry, while helping the tour connect with and build audiences among students in each city.

Taking ITM on the road

ITM Live Tour has already visited London, Bristol, Nottingham and Brighton, with sold-out and near-sold-out shows during its debut year.

Now, we’re looking to take the tour further. Reaching more cities, creating more opportunities for artists and young people, and connecting with even more local music communities across the UK.
